Elementary Pancake Feed Is February 1

The Nebraska Christian Elementary PTF (Parent Teacher Fellowship) is once again sponsoring the annual pancake feed on February 1st. It will be a time to enjoy delicious pancakes and sausage, but also a time for NC elementary families to fellowship and work together toward a common goal.

Proceeds from this special event help fund NC elementary scholarships, which over the last two years have amounted to over $5,000.  Any money generated above the amount for scholarships helps purchase t-shirts for the elementary musical as well as provides extra resources for the teachers in the elementary building.

This year the event will be on Saturday, February 1, from 5:00-7:30 p.m. Many parents volunteer to help run a smooth operation, and elementary students sell tickets to make the pancake feed possible.

The special thing about this night is that is has become a highly anticipated annual event for many older ladies and gentlemen as well as families in the community.  Part of this is because at $5 for adults and $3 for K-6th graders it is a reasonably priced meal which provides great fellowship and a satisfying night out.

According to Mrs. Denise Schreiber, the impact of this occasion has been substantial.  “Money raised has been used for scholarships for decades.  We hope to raise around $2,500 this year.”
