Registration Night Prepares 8th-11th Graders For The Fall

On Monday March 24, Nebraska Christian held its annual class registration night for the upcoming school year. Students in grades 8-11 and their parents met in the gym as NC counselor Mr. Larry Schreiber shared the requirements for graduation. Later, in a separate meeting, Schreiber and Mr. Steve James shared the requirements for attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

At the first meeting, those faculty members who teach electives provided information about courses such as art, oral interpretation, newspaper writing, yearbook, drama, and physics. After this introductory session, students had the opportunity to sign up for classes for fall of 2014.

The second meeting for only juniors moved to the science room, and James and Schreiber covered how to select the right college, the process of college admission, how to apply for financial aid, and what scholarships are available.

“I thought it was really helpful,” said junior Brittany Ritta. “It helped me feel more confident in what I need to do before college.”

Following the event, Schreiber said, “I was amazed with the turnout of students and parents.”
