Introducing Ziggy the Iguana

For three years Dee Flynn, the high school science teacher, has put on her wish list an iguana for the classroom, and one day God delivered. Flynn’s college physics advisor was looking for a new home for his daughter’s iguana as she moved out. Ever since then the science room has had a special guest: Ziggy the iguana.

Ziggy, the 12-13 year old iguana, may look kind of creepy, but he is actually a nice lizard that sometimes eats out of Flynn’s daughter’s hand. Ziggy eats a steady diet of spring mix, peas, and even bananas. He really likes bananas.

He is silently lobbying for a change in mascots, but he hasn’t gotten anywhere yet.
