Important End-of-the-Year Dates

The school year is rapidly winding down, and there are several dates we want to be sure you keep in mind!

Monday, April 24

Wednesday, April 16

Thursday, April 27

Spring Concert at the PAC, 7 p.m.

The Spring Concert will be at the PAC Center at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, and features our choir, band, and other groups. The 5th and 6th grade band students will also be playing in this concert. There is no admission charge, but a free will offering will be taken to benefit the music department.

Friday, April 28 & Saturday, April 29

Botany Class Plant Sale

The Botany class is hosting a plant sale on April 28 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and April 29 from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The Nebraska Christian Greenhouse is located south of the high school building, and there you will find beautiful hanging baskets, individual plants that you can add to your own pots and baskets, succulent and herb gardens. Come support the Nebraska Christian Botany class to help them raise money to purchase a shade cloth for the greenhouse. Find out more information on the class’s Facebook page.

Monday, May 1

NSAA Transfer Deadline for Students Entering Grades 10-12

May 1 is the deadline for students transferring within the state to make the transfer decision and for schools to place the student’s name on the NSAA transfer list so that such students can be immediately eligible in the fall for varsity activities at the transfer school. If such Nebraska student were to transfer to the new Nebraska school, but later decides to return to his/her former district before 90 school days have elapsed, such Nebraska student will be ineligible in the former district for 72 school days.

A reminder, students transferring from outside Nebraska CANNOT be included on the May 1 transfer list.

Students whose initial entry into grade nine will be this coming fall DO NOT need to be included on this list.

Monday, May 8

Sports Physicals

The Nebraska State Department of Education requires all 8th through 12th grade students who will participate in junior high or high school sports during the 2017-2018 school year to have a physical after May 1. On Monday, May 8, doctors and PAs from the Lone Tree Medical Clinic in Central City will give physicals in the secondary classroom building to current 7th-11th grade students from 5:30 p.m. until all students in line have been done. Students should begin to line up at 5:00. The cost is $25, and checks should be made out to Lone Tree Medical. Pre-physical information forms must be filled out and signed by parents before the physicals are given.

NC Senior Night, 7 p.m.

Wednesday, May 10

Academic Excellence Celebration, 8 a.m.

We will be recognizing academic achievements and scholarships in the gymnasium during this time.

Saturday, May 13

Graduation, 10:30 a.m.

Thursday, May 18

Last day of the 2016-2017 school year.
