2013 Football Preview

This year, Coach Ostrand is manning the sidelines for the Eagles, entering his 7th as the coach. When asked what are some of his highlights in his coaching career at NC, he replied there are a lot, but most importantly seeing young men mature and grow both spiritually and emotionally.

Losing several seniors from last year’s squad, Coach Ostrand’s team will be relatively young this season. When asked how he will coach this year’s players differently from last year’s team, he mentioned he wants to teach them with more detail and clarity to help them understand what the coaches are trying to do. As usual, his principles for a good team involve discipline, toughness, and, most importantly, selflessness. He mentioned a team will not be a good team without every single one of these qualities.

Prior to last Friday’s scrimmage, he said the reason for the scrimmage is to evaluate the conditioning, execution, and areas needing improvement. He also mentioned some of the tougher opponents the NC football team will face: High Plains, Elgin Public-Pope John, and Palmer.

Ostrand’s goal for this year’s football team is to grow in wisdom and conform to the image of Christ through their games and practices this season.

We wish our football team well! Go Eagles!!!
