Sixteen Selected to UNK Honor Choir

On January 27, several Nebraska Christian students will join with students from 117 other schools in Nebraska and Kansas for the University of Nebraska at Kearney’s annual Honor Band and Choral Clinic. The students will rehearse throughout the day, which culminates in a 6 p.m. concert at the UNK Health & Sports Arena. Admission to the concert is $3.

The NC students will participate in one of three choirs: Honor, Festival, and Women’s. Of the 18 Nebraska Christian students who auditioned, 16 were selected. Overall, more than 700 students auditioned for the choirs, and approximately half were selected. NC Music Director Mike Flynn said, “It is important for our students to be a part of this choral experience as many of the best singers in our part of the state come together to create beautiful music. The clinicians are top quality, the music chosen is usually excellent, and we work with other schools instead of competing against them.”
