Eagles Win Homecoming Game

On Friday, September 26th, the Nebraska Christian Eagle Football team took on the Cedar Bluffs Wildcats for Homecoming 2014 and came out flying, earning a 60-34 victory against the Wildcats. Senior running back Carson Huenefeld led the Eagles’ ground game scampering for 305 total yards on 21 carries and 4 touchdowns. The Eagles’ leading passer was senior quarterback Keagan Jewell, who threw for 76 yards and completed 50 percent of his passes for an average of 19 yards per pass. The leading receiver for the Eagles was junior tight end Dillon Rose, who caught 3 passes for 58 yards, an average of 19.3 yards per catch. Junior Logan Faeh and sophomore Benny Stevens led the Eagles in tackles with 6 tackles each. Seniors Carson Huenefeld and Keagan Jewell both had an interception in Friday nights’ win, which gave the Eagles a major boost of confidence. The Eagles had a pretty clean game with only 3 penalties for 28 yards.

The Eagles will be going into their next game with a 3-1 record against Howells-Dodge today, October 3rd, in Howells at 7:00 P.M. Join us and cheer for our Nebraska Christian Eagles!
