Music Department Prepares for Festival

On Friday, December 11th, Nebraska Christian Schools will present the 10th Anniversary Festival of Lessons and Carols to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus. The concert begins at 6:00 p.m. in the Nebraska Christian Gymnasium.

The Festival Choir has about 170 members from Nebraska Christian Schools, Palmer Public Schools, Central City Public Schools, High Plains Community Schools, and area home schools. The festival will be directed by international conductor Maestro Eric Dale Knapp.

“To be prepared to celebrate the birth of Jesus and sing to the Lord at the Festival of Lessons and Carols, the choir members have practiced a long time. We will be singing “For Unto Us” from Handel’s Messiah and many traditional carols at the festival,” said Mike Flynn, the choir and band teacher at Nebraska Christian. “It took a lot of work and we were planning months ahead for the festival, but all the work is well worth it because we can sing and praise our Lord,” said Deana Leonard, the Special Events Assistant at Nebraska Christian.

The public is invited to join in this special evening of celebrating Jesus’ birth. Tickets are still available in the NC office for $15 each.
