Fast Facts

For more than 55 years, Nebraska Christian has assisted the family and church by providing a Christ-centered education, equipping students with a Biblical worldview and encouraging a love relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

In September of 1959, Nebraska Christian Schools opened its doors for 38 high school students, most of whom lived in the dorms. A junior high program was added in 1971, and grades kindergarten through six began in 1977. NCS has been enriched over the years with the addition of international students, mainly from Asian nations. Currently, the majority of our students drive in each day, but all of our international students and several Americans live in the dorms.

Over the last 5 years, our average student body size is 204.  Our students come from 28 communities in Nebraska and six foreign countries: China, Kenya, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Our international students live in the dorms on campus and take both ESL and mainstream classes. They participate in sports and activities alongside the American students, thereby enriching the culture of our school.

Our 2013-2014 ACT average was 25.0, which includes both American and international students. Nebraska’s state average was 22.1 and the national average was 21.1 for the same year.

We have recently had students accepted into the following universities: University of Nebraska–Lincoln, University of Nebraska at Kearney, Michigan State, University of Illinois, Yale, Boston College, Penn State, Ohio State, Liberty, Wheaton, Johns Hopkins, Chicago Art Institute, Parsons School of Fashion, and many others.

Our high school students benefit from a traditional classroom setting where the student to teacher ratio is 9:1. We use textbooks published by A Beka, Bob Jones, Summit Ministries, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Dave Ramsey, and Sadlier, among others. Our teachers enhance their lessons with the use of technology and hands-on activities.

At Nebraska Christian, character and biblical education are woven throughout the curriculum of each class as we seek to train the next generation.

Since 1960, a total of 1420 students have graduated from Nebraska Christian. Our alumni can be found in 30 states and more than 20 countries on five continents.
