Foundation

For over 60 years, Nebraska Christian Schools has been preparing students for success. As a private school accepting no government funding, NC has had the freedom to integrate curriculum that equips students for tomorrow’s world.

In 1956, three farmers from Central Nebraska met together to pray about starting a school. Three years later their dreams became reality when the campus of Nebraska Christian College was purchased and renovated to be the campus of Nebraska Christian Schools.

Nebraska Christian Schools opened its doors for 38 high school students taught by six teachers in September of 1959. Dorms were opened for both boys and girls that same year. A junior high program was added in 1971, and grades kindergarten through six began in 1977. Recent NC students enjoy a new playground, state of the art high school and elementary classroom buildings, and an updated industrial technology facility.

The Next 50 Years Capital Campaign

At Nebraska Christian we strive to offer students a high-quality education, grounded in truth that produces well-rounded individuals capable of excelling in whatever endeavor they choose to pursue. Inadequate classroom space, insufficient practice facilities, and cramped kitchen and dining areas are limiting our effectiveness and potential. The Next 50 Years Capital Campaign will update the campus and enlarge facilities, dramatically impacting our appearance and ability to accomplish our goals.

Phase 1: New Girls’ DormitoryCompleted in November of 2015

• Houses 30 Students

• Updated Technology

• Increases Study/Recreation Space

• Provides Guest Suite

Elliot Hall was dedicated on March 18, 2016. It was named in honor of Elisabeth Elliot whose life exemplified godliness, faithfulness, kindness, patience, and a heart committed to sharing the love of Christ with others. We are pleased to now offer a first-class facility to students from around the world.

Phase 2: New Kitchen/Commons Area/Gymnasium

• New ADA Restrooms/Concession Stand (Complete)

• New Kitchen/Dining Hall/Commons Area

• New Gymnasium/Locker Rooms

This new building will be the one place on campus that impacts every single student, teacher, staff member, guest, and visiting group. The primary purpose for this new construction is to provide a comfortable, functional, welcoming space that meets the needs of our students and guests.

Phase 3:  Renovation of Administration Building

• Exterior Restoration of Rare Historic 1885 Architecture

• Interior Renovation/Updated Functionality

• Designed to Benefit Students, Campus, and Community

The Administration Building, a historical landmark in Nebraska education, is the centerpiece that adds both beauty and functionality to our unique grounds. Restoring this rare survivor increases the impact that our school will have on students, administration, and the entire community.

Built in 1885 as a Methodist College, the Administration Building soon became a Quaker college and in 1959 was purchased to become Nebraska Christian Schools. The building stands as a testament to the value this community has placed on education.

Leaving a Legacy that Builds Lives for Eternity

In 1959, Nebraska Christian Schools was established to assist the family and church by providing a Christ-centered education, equipping students with a biblical worldview, and encouraging a love relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

In order to ensure that NC has the resources to continue providing this vital service, the Nebraska Christian Schools Foundation was established to glorify God by providing a means through which gifts can be received and invested in order to build a solid financial base for Nebraska Christian Schools.

The Foundation is an investment means to receive contributions, gifts, grants, or bequests of real and/or personal property, from individuals, foundation, partnerships, associations, governmental bodies, public or private corporations, and agencies; to maintain, invest, and manage the whole or any part of the principal and income therefrom; and to use, apply, and expend principal and income exclusively for the betterment of Nebraska Christian Schools.

The funds managed by the Foundation are for the long-term security and growth of NC, to ensure that the option of a Christian education is always available to the local residents of central Nebraska and to NC dorm residents originating from around the world.

The NCS Foundation is currently overseeing the Ad Building & Gym Building Preservation Projects and Phase 2 of The Next 50 Years Capital Campaign.
