Nebraska Christian to Hold 18th Annual Dinner & Benefit Auction
The Nebraska Christian Dinner & Benefit Auction will be held March 27 & 28, 2020. You are invited to attend this very important dinner and auction! By God’s grace, this event has raised over $2.3 million during the past 17 years and has afforded NC the ability to supplement teachers’ salaries and provide scholarships for those students who may not otherwise be able to attend Nebraska Christian. As we are preparing for our 18th auction, we can see God’s hand all over this event. He has chosen to bless us not only financially, but also through the community exposure it gives us and the opportunity to invite people to our campus that might not come for any other reason. It is also a time for the entire NC family to work together and give back to the school we all appreciate so much.
You can partner with Nebraska Christian by:
*Providing items, gift certificates, and/or services. We will be accepting items for our Silent and Live Auctions until February 7th. Feel free to call with your creative ideas. We may be able to network some items to create a total package, or you may be able to give us a lead to something we haven’t thought of. Unique experiences have brought thousands of dollars to this fundraiser.
*Donating cash to underwrite the expenses of the event. The more of our expenses that are underwritten by your donations, the greater the profit the school realizes from the sale of tickets and items.
*Sponsoring a table:
Corporate Level: $1000 Table Sponsor/8 guests & prominent recognition in the catalog at the event and in our publications.
Standard Level: $400.00 Table Sponsor/8 guests
Individual Level: $50.00 Per Dinner Reservation
*Donating money to go directly to the scholarship fund. We have found our donors to be very enthusiastic about giving to scholarship, thus making a Christian education available to students who might otherwise not be able to attend NC.
Reservations and donations can be made by stopping by the Special Events Office, calling the office at 308-946-3836, calling Kristy’s cell at 402-209-3282, or emailing email@example.com.
2019 Net Profit: More than $209,000
We are pleased to report that God has chosen to pour out His blessing on NC once again by moving in the hearts of many very generous donors to give to the Dinner and Benefit Auction. The 2019 Auction netted just over $200,000. Over 500 items up for bid from more than 300 donors, as well as approximately 100 volunteers, contributed to the success of this event.
Our Friday “Preview” Night was a big success. This evening was an opportune time to casually preview all the items, start the bidding, or even “guarantee” a purchase. It was also a perfect opportunity to take part in the auction if attending the Saturday night event was not possible. NC supporters were able to receive a bid number at no cost and bid on silent auction items or make a “guaranteed” purchase.
The nearly 300 guests, including Lt. Governor Foley and his wife Susan, who attended the Dinner and Benefit Auction on Saturday, March 23, enjoyed a wonderful evening of delicious food prepared by Whitefoot Market from Boelus, Nebraska and served by our gracious student servers, big band sounds of the Knights of Rhythm, and lively bidding by our generous supporters. It was truly an evening of blessings from the Lord.
Twenty-five items were offered for sale on our Live Auction. Items that sparked aggressive bidding with our auctioneer Bruce McDowell from McDowell Auction Services were Salt Dogs Skybox for 20, Exclusive Husker Suite Experience, the Prairie Club Golf Package, Lt. Governor Dinner and the Muzzleloader Deer Hunt near Valentine, NE. The South Dakota Pheasant Hunt and the 13th Annual Festival of Lessons and Carols Celebration Evening each sold twice, adding even more excitement and blessings to the Live Auction event.
Scholarship Auction Total: $70,434.66
The Scholarship Auction continues to be an avenue of giving that our donors are enthusiastic about. NC has a $100,000 line item in the budget for student scholarships each year. Prior to the event, $28,000 of the $100,000 had been received in response to the mailings. The Scholarship Live Auction bidding resulted in $70,434.66 bringing the total to $98,434.66! All these funds will be used to provide a Christian education for students who might not otherwise have the financial means.
Thank you to all who donated time, talent, or treasure to make this event a success. The total profit made for the school through the benefit auction in the last 17 years has now passed $2.3 million. Please join us in thanking God once again for his amazing faithfulness to NC through the Dinner and Benefit Auction.
