Dinner & Benefit Auction

Nebraska Christian to Hold 16th Annual Dinner & Benefit Auction

The 16th Annual Nebraska Christian Dinner and Benefit Auction will be held March 23rd & 24th at the Nebraska Christian Schools gymnasium in Central City. The proceeds of the auction over the past 15 years have helped Nebraska Christian supplement teachers’ salaries and provided scholarships for those students who may not otherwise have been able to attend NC.

The weekend event begins on Friday, March 23rd, from 5 to 8 p.m. with “Preview Night.” Preview night attendees are encouraged to view all the items available at the event, place bids on silent auction items, or even “guarantee a purchase” on items before Saturday’s dinner and auction event. No reservations or entry fees are required for this night.

On Saturday, March 24th, the reservation-only event begins at 5 p.m. with hors d’ oeuvres and final silent auction bidding. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., followed by the live and scholarship auctions. The Knights of Rhythm Orchestra will provide the evening’s music.

Reservations for the March 24th dinner and live auction are $50 each; an entire table for eight may be purchased for $400; a Corporate Table, complete with special corporate recognition at the event, can be purchased for $1000. Seating is limited, so call for your reservation today. Call Kristy or Amy, 308-946-3836, to make reservations. Courtesy valet parking will be available.

2017 Net Profit: Nearly $200,000

We are pleased to report that God has chosen to pour out His blessing on NC once again by moving in the hearts of many very generous donors to give to the Dinner and Benefit Auction. Preliminary figures are showing that this year’s auction netted nearly $200,000. Over 540 items up for bid from more than 300 donors, as well as approximately 100 volunteers, contributed to the success of this event.

Our Friday “Preview” Night was a big success in. This evening was an opportune time to casually preview all the items, start the bidding, or even “guarantee” a purchase. It was also a perfect opportunity to take part in the auction if attending the Saturday night event was not possible. NC supporters were able to receive a bid number at no cost and bid on silent auction items or make a “guaranteed” purchase.

The nearly 300 guests who attended the Dinner and Benefit Auction on Saturday, March 25, enjoyed a wonderful evening of delicious food served by our gracious student servers, big band sounds of the Knights of Rhythm, entertaining music from Josh Cumpston, Allene Cumpston, and a host of NC staff and students, and lively bidding by our generous supporters. It was truly an evening of blessings from the Lord.

Twenty-five items were offered for sale on our Live Auction. Items that sparked aggressive bidding with our auctioneer Rick Grubaugh were the Limited Edition “Platte River Sunset” Canvas Giclee by Todd Williams Fine Art, Exclusive Husker Suite Experience, Zero turn 52” Hustler Raptor Lawnmower, and the Sedona Sanctuary. The Hot Air Balloon Ride for Two, Sedona Sanctuary, and the 12th Annual Festival of Lessons and Carols Celebration Evening each sold twice, adding even more excitement and blessings to the Live Auction event.

Scholarship Auction Total: $78,104

The Scholarship Auction continues to be an avenue of giving that our donors are enthusiastic about. NC has a $100,000 line item in the budget for student scholarships each year. Prior to the event, $30,000 of the $100,000 had been received in response to the mailings. The Scholarship Live Auction bidding resulted in $48,104 bringing the total to $78,104! All these funds will be used to provide a Christian education for students who might not otherwise have the financial means.

Thank You!

Thank you to all who donated time, talent, or treasure to make this event a success. The total profit made for the school through the benefit auction in the last 15 years has now passed $1.9 million. Please join us in thanking God once again for his amazing faithfulness to NC through the Dinner and Benefit Auction.
