Phase 1

IMG_1219Phase 1: The Girls’ Dormitory – $1.4 million

Funded and completed – November 2015!

The girls’ dorm program makes NC an educational option for girls all over the world. The previous facility had major foundation, structural, and roof issues that made it cost-prohibitive to renovate that facility. This new structure meets the needs of our existing dorm program and opens the door for summer camps, retreats, and other programs that were previously impossible.

American students who live in the dorms during the school week return home each weekend to spend time with their families. This ensures the opportunity for a Christian education to students who live too far away to drive to NC’s campus each day. This week-day-only dorm program has been available to students for 55 years, since the school’s founding.

International students hailing from six different countries enjoy our dorm as their full-time home during the school year. They arrive on campus in August and stay in the dorms until school dismisses in May, except for a brief time during Christmas vacation. Their presence on campus enriches the entire student body and community as our local students learn about international cultures and get to share American traditions with their international classmates.

In recent years, the international dorm program has grown, and international students now enjoy weekend trips, events, and special activities each semester to enrich their educational experience. They travel to major Midwestern cities, take in plays and fine arts performances, see live sporting events, and enjoy uniquely American experiences.

Whether American or international, students find NC’s dorm to be much more than simply a building with beds for sleeping. Students study around the tables, cook together in the kitchen, work side by side as they do their dorm jobs, and build relationships that last a lifetime. The dorms have been an integral part of Nebraska Christian schools since 1959, and we are excited to prepare them to continue to be so for the Next 50 Years.
