Nebraska Christian to Hold 14th Annual Dinner & Benefit Auction
The 14th Annual Nebraska Christian Dinner and Benefit Auction will be held March 18th & 19th at the Nebraska Christian Schools gymnasium in Central City. The proceeds of the auction over the past 13 years have helped Nebraska Christian supplement teachers’ salaries and provided scholarships for those students who may not otherwise have been able to attend NC.
The weekend event begins on Friday, March 18th, from 5 to 8 p.m. with “Preview Night.” Preview night attendees are encouraged to view all the items available at the event, place bids on silent auction items, or even “guarantee a purchase” on items before Saturday’s dinner and auction event. No reservations or entry fees are required for this night.
On Saturday, March 19th, the reservation-only event begins at 5 p.m. with hors d’ oeuvres and final silent auction bidding. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., followed by the live and scholarship auctions. The Knights of Rhythm Orchestra will provide the evening’s music.
Reservations for the March 19th dinner and live auction are $50 each; an entire table for 8 may be purchased for $400; or a Corporate Table, complete with special corporate recognition at the event, can be purchased for $1000. Seating is limited, so call for your reservation today. Call Kristy or Deana, 308-946-3836, to make reservations. Courtesy valet parking will be available.
2015 Net Profit: more than $200,000
We are pleased to report that God has poured out his blessing on NC by once again moving the hearts of many generous donors to give to the Dinner and Benefit Auction. This year we have a net profit of over $200,000. This is thanks to over 470 items donated by more than 260 friends of the school. Additionally, 100 volunteers contributed to the success of this event!
Nearly 300 guests attended the Saturday night dinner and were welcomed by the soft glow of candlelight and the big band sounds of the Knights of Rhythm. The student servers impressed our guests with their gracious service.
Twenty-seven items were offered for sale on the Live Auction. Items that sparked aggressive bidding were a UNL Ultimate Volleyball Experience, Four Husker Clubhouse Seats, 1,000 bushels of yellow corn, the hot air balloon ride, and Sedona Sanctuary Get-A-Way.
Scholarship Auction Total: $80,000
Donors also enthusiastically gave to the Scholarship Auction. NC has a $100,000 line item in the budget for student scholarships each year. The $80,000 raised will be a blessing to provide a much needed scholarship for students who might otherwise not have the financial means to attend Nebraska Christian.
Thank you to all who donated time, talent, or treasure to make this event a success. The total net profit made for the school through the Dinner & Benefit Auction over the last 13 years has now passed $1.4 million! Please join us in thanking God once again for His faithful provision for NC through the Dinner and Benefit Auction.
