2015 Approximate Net Profit: $210,000
We are pleased to report that God has chosen to pour out his blessing on NC once again by moving in the hearts of many very generous donors to give to the Dinner and Benefit Auction. Preliminary figures are showing that this year’s auction netted over $210,000. Over 460 items up for bid from more than 180 donors, as well as approximately 100 volunteers, contributed to the success of this event.
Our Friday “Preview” Night was a big success. This evening was an opportune time to casually preview all the items, start the bidding, or even “guarantee” a purchase. It was also a perfect opportunity to take part in the auction if attending the Saturday night event was not possible. NC supporters were able to receive a bid number at no cost and bid on silent auction items or make a “guaranteed” purchase.
The nearly 300 guests who attended the Dinner and Benefit Auction on Saturday, March 21, enjoyed a wonderful evening of delicious food served by our gracious student servers, big band sounds of the Knights of Rhythm, entertaining music from Josh and Allene Cumpston, and lively bidding by our generous supporters. It was truly an evening of blessings from the Lord.
Twenty-seven items were offered for sale on our Live Auction. Items that sparked aggressive bidding with our new auctioneer Bruce McDowell were the UNL Ultimate Volleyball Experience, Four Husker Clubhouse Seats, Hot Air Balloon Ride for Two, and the Sedona Sanctuary. The Hot Air Balloon Ride for Two, 10th Annual Festival of Lessons and Carols Celebration Evening, and the Sedona Sanctuary each sold twice, adding even more excitement and blessings to the Live Auction event.
Scholarship Auction Total: $79,455
The Scholarship Auction continues to be an avenue of giving that our donors are enthusiastic about. NC has a $100,000 line item in the budget for student scholarships each year. Prior to the event, $19,910 of the $100,000 had been received in response to mailings. The Scholarship Live Auction bidding resulted in $59,545, bringing the total to $79,455! All these funds will be used to provide a Christian education for students who might not otherwise have the financial means.
We are grateful to all who were able to donate an item, talent, or treasure in order to make this event successful. Please take a look at our donor list and make sure you thank these generous people and companies when you are doing business with them.
The total profit made for the school through the benefit auction in the last 13 years has now passed $1.5 million. Please join us in thanking God once again for his amazing faithfulness to NC through the Dinner and Benefit Auction. Make sure to mark your calendars for next year’s auction, which will be held March 19, 2016.
