Christian Education

Nebraska Christian Schools (NCS) is a K-12, non-denominational, private Christian school. Our students represent a variety of denominations, and they are taught a biblically-integrated, rigorous, college prep curriculum with many opportunities for hands-on learning. All of our subjects are taught from a biblical perspective, as integrating faith and learning is inherent in our curriculum. Additionally, all students attend weekly chapels and take a daily Bible class each year they attend NCS.

Chapel Program

Every week, our students attend chapel. Our chaplain, Gordon Thiessen, who has been at NCS since the early 2000’s, lines up our speakers. Elementary (K-6) and secondary (7-12) students meet separately.

We have recently heard messages from the following people:

  • Local pastors
  • David and Jason Benham – The Benham Brothers
  • Greg Gilbert
  • Ron Brown
  • Nebraska Attorney General Doug Peterson
  • David Wheaton
  • Bill Honsberger
  • Lincoln Murdoch

We post many of our chapels online. Find a list and listen here. We also recently had Rich Peterson do a series on studying the Bible. His messages can be found on our YouTube channel.

Bible Classes

One of our distinctives is a daily Bible class. On the elementary level, our students use Summit Ministries’ “Building on the Rock.” Our junior highers study John and Proverbs, freshmen do an Old and New Testament survey, sophomores study theology and doctrine, juniors go through The Truth Project and the book Respectable Sins, and seniors follow Summit Ministries’ Understanding the Times worldview curriculum.

We also offer two Bible electives for high school students: Men of Vision and Women of Vision, which help students understand their roles in God’s grand design.
