NC Students Excel at Spelling Bee

Our contestants in the Merrick County Spelling Bee had a great day! The elementary bee took place in the morning on February 11 with Jayden Leonard, Seth Hower, Jamie Myers, and Cory Ruybalid competing for Nebraska Christian. Olivia Janssen was the alternate. Jayden, Seth, and Jamie all advanced to the oral round, and Jayden emerged victorious!

The 7th and 8th grade bee was held in the afternoon after the elementary bee. Cheyenne Glines, Benjamin Janssen, Micah Smith, and Luke Swanson were NC’s entrants, and Tim Hofmann was the alternate. Cheyenne, Ben, and Micah advanced to the oral round, and Ben ended up in second place.
