Speech Team Is Conference Runner Up

On Wednesday, February 24th, the Nebraska Christian Speech Team traveled to St. Edward Public School for the 2016 Goldenrod Conference Speech Meet. The speech team was Goldenrod Conference Runner-up (Burwell was the conference champion) and brought home 11 medals. Nebraska Christian speakers were crowned champions in three different events: Makenna Loy, 1st, Serious Prose; Sydney Fuehrer, 1st, Humorous Prose; and Alex Hao & Isabella Yang, 1st, Duet. Also earning medals were Jeremiah Ebel, Sam Twogood, Makenna Loy, Wendy Bornmann, Sydney Fuehrer, 2nd, OID; Danae Burdett, 3rd, Persuasive; Katie Nyberg, 3rd, Extemp; Grace Wu & Trang Doan, 3rd, Duet; Morgan Schulze, 3rd, Informative; Cole Ruybalid, 4th, Humorous Prose; Jessica Hilderbrand, 5th, Entertainment; and Lydia Langemeier, 6th, Poetry.

“The results went beyond my expectations, and it was an exciting day,” said Coach Becky Ritta.

God has blessed the speech team this year. Speech members all got their feedback and continue to work hard at improving in their events. We praise the Lord for blessing everyone and wish the team the best as they perform at the District and State Meets.
