Ostrand Selected to All-Star Game

Senior Claire Ostrand is one of the twenty-eight seniors in Nebraska to be selected to participate in the 2018 Nebraska Coaches Association All-Star Volleyball Match. She is the first Nebraska Christian player to be selected to this event. The event will be held on July 24th, 2018, at Lincoln North Star. This match features the best senior volleyball players from all over the state of Nebraska. It is a tremendous honor for Claire and her teammates, as she could not have done it without them. “I am looking forward to playing in this all-star game. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity, and I am very thankful for my coaches and teammates in helping me achieve this honor,” she said.

Claire has been a four year starter for Nebraska Christian and has been blessed with great success throughout her high school career, including four conference titles, two district runner-ups, a district championship, and the school’s first state tournament berth in 33 years. She holds the Nebraska Christian records in career and season digs and ace serves. During her four years at NC, the Eagles have amassed a record 104-21. Claire’s head coach during her time at NC has been her mother, Tonya Ostrand, who stated, “It is a huge honor for Claire to be chosen for the Nebraska Coaches All-Star game. Claire has been a strong contributor to our program for the past four years, and this is a great culmination of her career here at NC.”

Claire plans to further her education pursuing a Health Science degree, and continuing her volleyball career at Hastings College next fall.
