Meet the 2018-2019 Student Blog Authors!

Once again this year, our yearbook staff will be writing blog posts for the NC blog. This year’s staff includes seven seniors, three juniors, and one freshman. You can learn more about them below.

Seniors

Laura Carlson will be graduating with the class of 2019. She has attended Nebraska Christian since 9th grade and runs cross country and track. She is the editor of the 2018-19 yearbook. She is the oldest of five children, all who are enrolled at NC, and lives outside of Marquette.

Adrienne Falk is a member of the class of 2019. She is currently in her fourth year at Nebraska Christian and is a member of the volleyball, basketball, and track teams. She is also the yearbook business manager. Adrienne lives in Pleasanton.

Cody Griess is a member of the Class of 2019. He has attended NC since 7th grade and participates in football and basketball. He is the senior class president and lives in Grand Island.

Jada McHargue is a member of the class of 2019. She been attending Nebraska Christian for 13 years. Jada is the daughter of Paul (‘88), who is a board member, and Anna. Jada has four siblings that also attend Nebraska Christian. She is involved in volleyball and basketball.

Carsyn Ostrand is in the class of 2019. She has attended Nebraska Christian for twelve years. She is involved in volleyball, basketball and track and is the photo editor for the yearbook. Carsyn has three sisters who have graduated from NC, as well as parents who have coached and taught at Nebraska Christian for twelve years.

Kate Pipher is a member of the class of 2019. This is her fourth year at Nebraska Christian. Kate enjoys participating in sports, enjoying time with friends and family, working with children, and reading. She lives on an acreage outside of Central City with her parents and two siblings.

Savannah Thomas is a member of the class 2019. She was born in Portland, Oregon, and now lives in Seneca, Nebraska. She is the oldest of three children, and this is her first year attending NC.

Kevin Yu is a member of the class of 2019. He has been studying at NC for four years. He is an international student from China and lives in the dorm at NC now.

Juniors

Seth Hower is a member of the class of 2020. He is the son of NC alums Jeff (‘88) & Daurice (Pizzolato ‘87) Hower. Seth has attended NC since preschool. He lives in Grand Island. Seth also participates in football, basketball, track & field, and band, and he is the junior class president.

Josie Maberry is a member of the class of 2020. This will be her second year at NC, along with her two brothers, Clay and Justin. She lives in Central City.  

Garrett Swantek is a junior going into his third year at NC. He lives in Genoa with his parents Jason and Kelly Swantek and his three siblings.

Freshman

Nehemiah Peters is in the ninth grade at Nebraska Christian. He is involved in sports such as football and basketball. He is also a Life Scout in Troop 276 of Columbus.
